Adam Lambert has released the first single from his upcoming EP “Velvet Side A.”
The song is called “Superpower,” and Adam also released the accompanying music video Wednesday.
“I just wanted to put something out that would make people dance and feel good,” Adam Lambert told Access Hollywood.
“It’s a message of empowerment. If you’re in a situation where someone is giving you a hard time, or you’re being bullied, or someone is discriminating against you, you have a right to stand up for yourself, and you have a right to love yourself.”
“Velvet,” a six-song collection, is set for release Sept. 27 and is available for pre-order now.
All the other songs are new. Adam released a series of singles earlier this year — “Comin’ in Hot,” “New Eyes” and “Feel Something” — but those songs aren’t on “Velvet.”
“Velvet” will mark the first major release for the former American Idol runner-up since his 2015 album, “The Original High.”
Here’s the music video for “Velvet.” And this one comes with an explicit lyric warning.
