Music charts: Mandisa, Daughtry, Jennifer near the top

Mandisa's What If We Were RealHey, nice week on the Billboard charts for season five contestant Mandisa, the most successful Christian artist Idol has produced to date.

Her third album had slipped to number eight on the Christian album chart last week.

This week, it rebounds to number three, trailing only “Awake” by Skillet and “Hundred More Years” by Francesca Battistelli.

“What If We Were Real” also moved up 19 spots on the Billboard 200, to 126.

As for the album’s lead single, it’s been number three on the Christian singles chart for five straight weeks now.

Ahead of it on that chart, “Glorious Day” by Casting Crowns and “You Are More” by Tenth Avenue North.

Other chart highlights:

* Crystal Bowersox appears on Idol last week. This week, her fine debut album, “Farmer’s Daughter,” re-entered he Billboard 200 at number 184.

* Jennifer Hudson’s “Where You At” single holds steady at number five on the dance/club play chart. It slips from 15 to 22 on the R&B singles chart.

* Daughtry’s “September” has been entrenched near the top of the adult contemporary chart for months now, without reaching number one.

It’s number three again this week.
