A new role for Carrie Underwood

But she landed a new role Wednesday, as the first-ever celebrity ambassador for Olay. That’s right, the beauty product folks.

Olay is going to sponsor Carrie’s “Play On” tour through the end of the year, according to an annoucement at a press conference in New York.

And Carrie’s going to pitch Olay projects. Which makes a perfect partnership, according to American Idol’s season four winner, because she’s used Olay products for about a decade and describes herself as “a makeup junkie.”

“People trust me,” she said of her ability as a spokeswoman for Olay during Wednesday’s press conference. “I can’t lie … I’m also really nervous because you’re all taking photos and you’re all looking at me.”

As for the CMAs, Carrie isn’t nominated as Entertainer of the Year, but she will be co-hosting the show on ABC on Nov. 10.

She’s also nominated in two categories: album of the year for “Play On” and female vocalist of the year.
