On Wednesday, a new video debuted with Megan as featured vocalist on a version of “I Love Rock and Roll” released by country rapper Moccasin Creek.
The song is already available for download and will be a bonus track on Moccasin Creek’s upcoming album, “Game Over,” due for a Sept. 23 release.
This marks Megan’s second collaboration with Moccasin Creek, following 2015’s “Walk Away.”
Oh, and speaking of albums, Megan released one on Thursday … well, a sorta EP, sorta album called “Rockstar” and featuring seven original tracks.
It’s the first new music Megan has released since making it to the second battle round on Season 6 of The Voice. You might remember her as the Nashville musician who made her living covering Patsy Cline and Faith Hill when she really wanted to rock.
The album falls somewhere between rock and pop. The title track, which Megan calls “the story of my life,” is one of the standout tracks. You can check out an acoustic version above. “Red” is the best rocker and “Hey, Hey, It’s Okay” certainly makes for a fun album-closer.
By appearing in a new show at The Plaza in Las Vegas called One Epic Night.
The show opened earlier night, continued Saturday and will run for five nights a week for three months.
It also features Will Champlin, who finished third on Season 6 of The Voice; James Durbin, the rocker who finished fourth on Season 10 of American Idol, and Jarrett & Raja, the magician and pianist from Season 7 of America’s Got Talent.
If you have plans to be in Vegas anytime soon, you can head here for ticket information.
Wrote Megan on Facebook: “Nothing like seeing your face on a big billboard in Las Vegas….to make you motivated to kick a$$ in Sin City!!”
You can follow Megan through her Facebook page and website. On Twitter, she’s simply @MeganRuger.
