ABC found a way to beat The Voice in the TV ratings, and it wasn’t with American Idol.

The rebooted Roseanne opened to a huge audience on ABC Tuesday night, attracting an estimated 18.16 million viewers and garnering a 5.1 rating among viewers between 18 and 49.

The Voice finished second in the Tuesday ratings. Its rating among the 18-49 crowd dropped from 2.1 last Tuesday to 1.6 this week. Total viewers dropped from an estimated 10.75 million to 8.8 million.

That followed a Monday night in which The Voice beat Idol in the rankings for a third straight week.

This week’s breakdown, per TV by the Numbers, had The Voice with a 2.0 rating among viewers 18-49 and 10.37 million viewers compared to Idol’s 1.7 rating and 7.68 million viewers.
