Who goes home tonight on American Idol?
That’s a heck of a good question.
In my opinion, the Idol finale should feature Candice Glover and Angie Miller.
Both have continued to excel while I think Kree Harrison has slipped a bit over the past couple of weeks.
Logic dictates that Angie Miller will make the finals based on the big social media edge she holds over Candice Glover and Kree Harrison.
But Jessica Sanchez held the same type of edge over Phillip Phillips last year, and it didn’t translate into an Idol title.
Logic dictates that Candice Glover just has to make the Idol finals because of her vocal ability.
But Joshua Ledet was the best singer in last year’s Top 3. He did not make the finals.
And logic dictates that Kree should go home tonight after the lackluster reviews she’s received from the judges in recent weeks.
Or there could be a voter backlash based on the fact that the judges have seemingly targeted her for elimination and did everything possible last night to ensure Candice would make the finals.
Regardless, it adds up to one of the most suspenseful results episode this year on Idol.
So, now Jimmy Iovine gets another chance to offer his insight, on the songs he picked, no less (lol).
* He says Angie won round one last night, but missed a potential moment by not playing piano on the Elton John song. And I’m getting mad all over again. Jimmy, she explained last night: She didn’t feel she knew the song well enough to play piano. How about if Idol’s mentor supreme (that is supposedly you) gave her a song she knew on piano so she could play piano? Huh? Think that might have been a good idea?
Hey, FOX, fire Jimmy, too!
Musical interlude as Lauren Alaina returns to sing “Barefoot and Buckwild,” which could only be a country song, right?
And she jokes that if people don’t like it, she’s one-third responsible because it’s the first of her singles she helped write.
It’s an OK song. Lauren and Scotty McCreery face a critical test this year as they release sophomore albums. That’s been a tough sell for lots of other country artists from Idol.
Back to Jimmy-time:
* Jimmy reminds us that he gave round two to Kree because she had the best match of visit home footage and song.
Next, we get to watch Mariah’s new video. She dances around like a stripper a lot. But Miguel does most of the singing.
Call me unimpressed. How in the heck does that even qualify as a Mariah Carey song?
And that’s supposed to be a lesson to the Top 3? Pretty sure you won’t see Candice or Kree dancing in a video like that. Nor Angie, from what I know about her background.
Now a little music from Alicia Keys. Why? Who knows?
After featuring just past contestants through the first several weeks of the finals, Idol has strayed from that concept, too. Just wake me up when she’s done singing.
Back to Jimmy, again:
* Jimmy liked Kree’s attitude on “Better Dig Two.” He thought Angie did well on her song, not great. He, of course, loved Candice. Totally disagree with Jimmy on Kree. and Jimmy says if Candice goes home tonight, he’s going with her.
And here come the results …
Headed to the finals …
* Candice Glover. Good news. She deserves it.
* Kree Harrison. Really?
And Angie Miller heads home on American Idol.

Angie has always been on top. Kree should have been eliminated. Then it is between Candice and Angie. Although Candice has more vocalability. But Angie has more showmanship and cand sell more.
I guess the decision was fixed on Candice.
Kree DID NOT DESERVE TO GO HOME. She did not pick her songs. She did well considering the wrong songs that Jimmy and the producers picked. So happy Kree made. By the way Ryan Seacrest said that he will anounce the top 2 IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER. Kree could have had the most votes and yet we dont know that. Angies fans obviously did not vote enough. Go Kree I support and root fo you all the way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
