For weeks, the folks at American Idol have been talking about the incredible talent among the female singers on the show in Season 12. Tonight, the first group of 10 guys get to show they’re worthy as well.
Ten of the top 20 female singers took the stage in Vegas on American Idol Wednesday night. By the end of the night, five were advancing and five were heading home.
American Idol went to Las Vegas with a new format and a new look Wednesday night. By the time the show ended, we had five semifinalists — Tenna Torres, Angela Miller, Amber Holcomb, Adriana Latonio and Kree Harrison. And five disappointed young ladies — Isabelle, Shubha Vedula, Kamaria Ousley, Brandy Hotard and Jenny Beth Willis.
Over the weekend, American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe sent out a couple of tweets about the talent level on Season 12. One read like this: “I believe the girls have great voices this year. The boys are good and are interesting characters.” And another: “3 great guys, 10 great girls.”
Season 9 American Idol contestant Katie Stevens would like to be part of the pilot for a new TV show. And she and the production team are hoping you’ll be willing to help fund that pilot.
Crystal Bowersox’s new album now has a release date: March 26. And pre-orders for her second album are now being taken on iTunes.
The scene is the same but nearly everything else has changed. American Idol heads to Vegas this week, with two-hour shows scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.
