Christina “Isabelle” drew rave reviews Wednesday night on American Idol with her rendition of “Summertime.” The 21-year-old Berklee School of Music student performs as Isabelle and has worked with a wedding band in the Boston area. And she’s equally impressive in the videos below.
Shira Gavrielov was one of the six female contestants we met on American Idol Wednesday night who made it to Hollywood. The 23-year-old resides in Brooklyn now, but grew up in Israel. She’s also one of the Idol contestants who has already released music — specifically, an album called “Clear Vision” that’s available on iTunes.
So, I just collected a bunch of comments on Twitter about the new Idol judges. Gotta say, some people love Nicki. Some hate her. Same with Mariah. Anyway, here it is.
OK, episode one of Season 12 is in the books. We’ve seen the judges in action. We’ve met some contestants. So, in true Idol Chatter fashion, let’s dole out some grades.
Angela Miller, an 18-year-old from Boston, was one of six female singers we met on Wednesday’s episode of Idol who made it to Hollywood. She auditioned with “Mama Knows Best” by Jessie J and got a yes from all four judges. For the live blog, head here.
We met Sarah Restuccio on Wednesday’s episode of Idol. She’s the gal who sang “Mama’s Song” by Carrie Underwood, then followed it up by rapping “Super Bass” by Nicki Minaj.
Tenna Torres, 28, of Queens, N.Y., was featured on Wednesday’s audition episode of American Idol. Last year, she made it all the way to the Las Vegas round before being cut.
For weeks, the focus has been on the new American Idol judges. On the Nicki-Mariah feud. On Nicki saying she’s not sure she can trust herself on live TV. On Mariah saying it’s all a distraction from where the focus should be — the contestants. And on poor Keith Urban being caught in the middle…
