So, have you seen David Cook’s new video for “The Last Goodbye?”

If not, you should check it out. It’s not at all what you’d expect from a video for a breakup song.

We’ll also apparently be treated to another appearance by David on Idol this week. According to his website, he’ll be performing this year’s Idol farewell song, “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” on Tuesday’s episode.

I’m wondering what Idol has in store for Wednesday’s season finale, which is usually star-packed. This being Idol’s 10th season, wouldn’t it be great to feature all the past winners. Just saying.

Meanwhile, we’ve got about a month to wait for David’s new album, “This Loud Morning.”

But you can pre-order the album now, in many variations, from David’s website. And the site is still offering instant downloads of “The Last Goodbye” and “Don’t You” with each pre-order.

Two of the packages include an exclusive acoustic EP and the deluxe version of the album, which features two bonus tracks and a “Making of …” DVD.
