Apparently, for the second straight year, we’ll be spared the horror of an Idol coronation song.

Each of our American Idol finalists will be performing three songs Tuesday night (8 p.m. FOX).

And instead of a coronation song, Idol will follow the same format as last year and allow each finalist to sing their first single.

What’s more TasteofCountry.com is reporting that it’s been leaked the titles of those singles.

The site reports that Scotty McCreery will sing “Love You This Big” and that Lauren Alaina’s first single will be “Like My Mother Does.”

A song by the same name appeared on Kristy Lee Cook’s post-Season 7 album. If it’s the same song, it’s certainly age appropriate for Lauren, though far from the best track on that album.

Based on what the site is reporting, I’m a little confused about when the singles will be available, but it sounds like Thursday at the latest.

As for the other two songs we’ll hear Tuesday night …

It sounds like Idol will follow tradition and allow each finalist to pick one of their favorite performances from earlier in the season to reprise.

And USA Today is reporting that county star George Strait will pick the third song for Scotty and Season 4 Idol Carrie Underwood will perform the same honors for Lauren.
