Carrie worried about forgetting the lyrics to the national anthem at today’s Super Bowl.

She need not have fretted. The performance came off flawlessly, of course.

And the Carrie Underwood news keeps coming at us, fast and furious.

For instance …

* Carrie has landed a role in her first studio movie, called “Soul Surfer.” It’s based on the life of champion surfer Bethany Hamilton, who continues to compete despite losing her arm in a shark attack at age 13. Carrie will play Sarah Hill, a church youth leader, and filming is set to take place this month. The film stars AnnaSophia Robb in the lead role with Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid playing her parents. Of course, Carrie also recently filmed a guest starring role in the TV hit, “How I Met Your Mother.”

* Carrie will perform at the CMA Music Festival, set for June 10-13 in Nashville. She’s the first artist to sign on and shocked one of her biggest fans with the news. Riley Ahlstrand, a 15-year-old girl from Tennessee had written the CMA Music Fest, pretty much begging that they sign on American Idol’s season four champ for this year’s show. Carrie, in turn,decided to deliver the news of her appearance at the show to Riley herself. Check it out in this video.
