Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, country music’s most famous exes, will each have a streak on the line at the County Music Association awards Wednesday night.

Blake has been named male vocalist of the year five straight times and will be going for a sixth such award.

And Miranda has matched that performance, winning top female vocalist honors every year since 2010.

She’ll also be trying to win entertainer of the year, something that’s been done only once by a female since 2001.

The three-hour CMA awards being 8 p.m. Wednesday on ABC.

And, while we’re talking about streaks, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will be hosting for an eighth straight year.

If you’re wondering about nominees with a connection to The Voice or American Idol, Blake and Carrie are it.

Both are nominated for two awards as follows.

* Male vocalist of the year: Blake’s competition includes Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church and Chris Stapleton.

* Female vocalist of the year: Carrie will be trying to end Miranda’s streak of five straight wins. Other nominees include Kacey Musgraves, Lee Ann Womack and Kelsea Ballerini. Carrie won the award three straight times between 2006 and 2008.

* Vocal event of the year: Blake is nominated for his performance of “Lonely Tonight” with Ashley Monroe. The other nominees include his ex Miranda for her performance of “Smokin’ and Drinkin’,” featuring Little Big Town.

* Music video of the year: Carrie’s other nomination for her “Something in the Water” video. The other nominees are Miranda’s “Little Red Wagon,” Kacey’s “Biscuits,” Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush,” and Maddie & Tae’s “Girl in a Country Song.”

* Entertainer of the year: Besides Miranda, those up for the night’s biggest award include Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church and last year’s winner, Luke Bryan.

Blake and Carrie are also among those who will perform during the show. Check back Wednesday night. I’ll be posting a photo gallery from the event.
