The duet is from Keith’s Grammy-nominated “Ripcord” album, released last year.
Keith and Carrie will also be performing the song on the Grammy Awards Sunday night on CBS.
The duo posted a brief video announcing the song as a new single and upcoming music video today form the set of the video shoot.
“This is the set. It looks a bit like a boxing ring,” Keith says. “Although Carrie and I get along pretty well.”
Of course, they do. You’ll recall they delivered a rousing performance of “Stop Dragging My Heart Around” on the American Idol finale last spring.
“Ripcord” is nominated for a Grammy at Sunday’s show. Carrie is up for honors as well, nominated for best country solo performance for “Church Bells.” Her competitors include Keith, nominated for “Blue Ain’t Your Color.”
If you aren’t familiar with “The Fighter,” here’s the album version of the song.
