Well, Carrie Underwood won’t win a third straight Entertainer of the Year crown at the Academy of Country Music Awards tonight.
But she provided an early and unexpected highlight for the show, when she showed up on stage with red streaks in her hair and launched into a two-song duet with Idol judge Steven Tyler.
The two performed rocking version of “Undo It” and “Walk This Way.” If you missed it, that’s the video above, with photos from the performance below.
Carrie was up for one award tonight, Female Vocalist of the Year. That honor went to Miranda Lambert, the night’s big winner. She also won song of the year, single ecord of the year and video of the year, all for “The House That Built Me.”
Carrie has won Entertainer of the Year in 2009 and 2010. She was not nominated for that honor this year.
Miranda was, but lost out to Taylor Swift. The award was presented by Ryan Seacrest.

Wow Steven Tyler sure squealed a mucked up rendition of the National Anthem for the New England play off game. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
