The buildup over new music from Carrie Underwood continues.
And why not?
Five days after she released her new single “Smoke Break,” the song was still number one on iTunes’ country singles chart Wednesday night.
The video, released earlier Wednesday, zipped right to number one as well.
And the song is number 12 on iTunes’ overall singles chart.
There’s more new music on the way, of course. Carrie has also revealed the cover art for her upcoming “Storyteller” album, due out everywhere on Oct. 23.
And she had some interesting things to say about that album in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
This will mark the 32-year-old’s first album since giving birth to her son, Isaiah, in February.
“I kinda feel like everybody expects motherhood to completely change me as a writer and an artist. I feel like it just adds another wonderful dimension. I’m not going to sit back and make a whole album of mommy songs.”
She did wind up writing one song about Isaiah, but says as a whole, the new album “ended up being more twangy, but kinda this cool, edgy twang, like a rock twang.”
You can read the full interview here.
And, if you haven’t seen the video yet — it already has 230,000 plus views on YouTube — here it is.
