That didn’t take long.

Monday, we learned that Carrie Underwood’s new album would be titled “Play On” and is scheduled for a Nov. 3 release.

Absent was any news about the first single off the album.

Well, late last night, Underwood’s first single from album three, “Cowboy Casanova,” was announced on her MySpace page.

Still no word on when it will be available for download, but you can listen to the entire tune here.

It features Carrie in her hard-driving “Before He Cheats”/”Last Name” mode.

And I’m sure it will be a hit.

After all, she hasn’t released a single that missed yet.

Turns out there’s a reason Carrie’s “Cowboy Casanova” appeared out of nowhere, late on a Wednesday evening.

There was a leak of a rough, unfinished version of the song, according to a blog posted on Carrie’s MySpace page Thursday afternoon.

So Carrie’s team wanted to make sure fans could hear the real thing. In addition to the link above, you can find it at carrieunderwoodofficial.com and at youtube.com/carrieunderwood.
The song was originally scheduled to be released to country radio on Tuesday.
