Season 4 of The Voice begins Monday night at 8 p.m. on NBC. Check back for live blogs during each show and for bios of the contestants who land a spot in the competition.
Meanwhile, it’s time to catch up with some familiar faces who have new music out, including a Season 3 Team Blake member Terry McDermott.
Before The Voice: Terry was 35, living in New Orleans with his wife and son and working to revive a rock music career. He moved to L.A. from Scotland with a six-man band called Driveblind in 2003. Driveblind released an album and an EP before the band members went their separate ways. Terry then became lead singer for Lotus Crush, a rock band including two original members of Candlebox. Lotus Crush released an album in 2010.
On The Voice: Terry quickly became known for his pitch-perfect covers of rock classics and wound up as Season 3 runner-up to Cassadee Pope. Highlights along the way included a stripped down version of “I Want to Know What Love Is” and a cover of The Beatles “Let It Be.” Both landed at number two on the iTunes singles chart the day after the performances.
Since The Voice: Terry released his first post-Voice single, “Pictures,” on Feb. 25 and has since released a video for the song (embedded below). He was the halftime performer at the January wild card NFL playoff game between the Houston Texans and Cincinnati Bengals, playing a medley of rock classics. And he’s preparing for an April 12 show at the Gramercy Theatre in New York.

Terry McDermott is such a talented artist! His live shows are incredible…a must see event! He also has an upcoming show in New Orleans on April 14th at One Eyed Jack’s!
I had my fingers crossed for Terry all through The Voice. His new song Pictures is right in the groove and I am looking forward to a long career and lots of good tunes from him.
Even though most teenage girls aren’t big classic rock fans I thought Terry was f–king EPIC! Glad he’s still at it!

I absolutely became in awe of Terry when I saw his audition for The Voice. I found myself enthralled with each and every performance…..actually looking forward to every episode to the point that I scheduled other plans around The Voice TV show! Terry McDermott never disappoints! His songwriting is honest and truthful and he sings with passion. His performance on The Voice with his #1 hit song, PICTURES, was awesome.
