After American Idol

Check out the latest music video from Pia Toscano

Toscano delivered one of my favorites vocals from a former Idol contestant when she released “You’ll Be King” as a single back in April.

Now the song has an accompanying music video, filmed in the deserts of California.

It marks Pia’s first solo music video in five years. Her last was for the single “This Time,” a song released shortly after her appearance on Season 10 of American Idol.

“You’ll Be King” was released simultaneously with a song called “Pyro;” you can check out the latter here.

As for the video, here’s what Pia told Billboard when it premiered there late last month.

“The concept of this video was to really portray and tell the story behind this toxic, dysfunctional relationship that I was once in.

“I was in the most vulnerable and insecure place in my life when I wrote this song and I needed to go back to that place and really tap into those emotions for this video.”

Robert Styles directed the video. For the ladies wondering, the guy co-starring in the video with Pia is actor Cody Callahan.
