The song is called “Come Back Home,” and it’s the first release from the Chicago resident since he competed on the show in the fall of 2013.
“I am extremely grateful for all of you who have stuck around and continued to support me even without releasing any music,” Michael writes on Facebook. “You all know me as a singer, but now I finally get to show you who I am as a songwriter, a producer and, most importantly, as an ARTIST.”
Michael was 27 when he auditioned for The Voice with a cover of Enrique Inglesias’ “Bailamos,” turned three chairs — Team Adam was already full — and opted to join Team Christina. He even got to dance and do a brief duet of “Bailamos” with her.
He was eliminated in the battle round when paired with Josh Logan, an eventual Top 12 finisher.
Before and since The Voice, Michael has performed as one of the featured vocalists with the Ken Arlen Evolution Orchestra, a wedding and event band based in Evanston, Ill.
And this week, he’ll be performing the national anthem prior to a Chicago White Sox game.
You can follow Michael through his Facebook page. On Twitter, he’s @MichaelLynchML.
