And contestants who auditioned began announcing their participation to fans last week.
So far, I’ve tracked down Twitter announcements for 41 singers who tried out for Season 12.
Obviously, the list below isn’t complete because 48 contestants land spots on each season of The Voice.
And just because a singer is listed below doesn’t mean they turned a chair with their audition.

Remember, this is the season when The Voice lowers the eligible audition age to 13.
Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are back in the fold again for Season 12, which starts Monday, Feb. 27. Alicia Keys also returns after her debut as a coach in Season 11.
Rounding out the coaching panel is Gwen Stefani, who’s back after a two-season haitus. You can hear what she has to say about Season 12 and what it’s like coaching alongside her beau in the video above.
Now, on with the list. It includes a young woman named Aaliyah Rose who was chosen by Disney to perform “Let It Go” from Frozen at the 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards and another named Andrea Thomas who previously sang background for none other than Carrie Underwood.
