Season 12 Voice champ Chris Blue made a triumphant return to the show’s stage Tuesday night to perform his new single, “Blue Blood Blues.”
And then something predictable happened.
A song that wasn’t even on the iTunes Top 200 12 hours after its Friday release was rocketing up the charts.
As of noon today, it had landed at 77 on the overall chart and an impressive number three on the iTunes R&B soul chart.
And Chris had right to be proud. His live performance was one of the highlights on a Season 13 finale filled with superstar performances.
“Singing music that is you and music that is real — that’s how this song came about,” Chris said in a promo piece for Tuesday’s performance.
And, of course, Chris has a pretty powerful force in his corner — Voice coach Alicia Keys — who is assisting with his upcoming debut album.
“He’s always been a crazy arranger. And he’s always had clear ideas about who he is as an artist,” she says in the same piece. “It just resonates and it’s so genuine.”
Here are more photos of Chris’ return to The Voice.
