In this segment, Jessica feels like her life is spiraling out of control, especially since she believes she’s being deceived by her boyfriend.
Her video mother intervenes with some helpful advice: “There’s some things you can never lose once you find them. Your voice is one of them … Just make sure you find it.”
Christina then launches into “Deception,” probably the best vocal from her “Side A” EP, released earlier this year.
I think it’s safe to say that if she hadn’t already found her voice, Christina did with her new music. And, again, watching this is emotional since she’s no longer around to share that voice.
Meanwhile, wasn’t it nice of The Voice to pay tribute to Christina at the end of that sneak peek episode Sunday night.
I’m just hoping they do something a little more substantial when Season 11 resumes a month from now.
Here are the first two parts of the “Ballad of Jessica Blue” in case you missed them. The fourth and final part lands next Thursday.
