Are you ready for the shocking news?

This year’s CMA Award nominees include Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood.

That’s not shocking, of course. It’d be more shocking if they were nominated for something.

In this case, they’re both up for a pair of awards.

Carrie is nominated for female country vocalist of the year along with Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Lee Ann Womack and Kelsea Ballerini. Miranda won last year.

Carrie is also nominated for video of the year for “Something in the Water.” The other nominees: Miranda’s “Little Red Wagon,” Kacey’s “Biscuits,” Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush,” and Maddie & Tae’s “Girl in a Country Song.”

Blake is nominated for male country vocalist of the year alongside Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church and Chris Stapleton. Blake won the honor in 2014.

He’s also nominated for musical event of the year for his performance of “Lonely Tonight” with Ashley Monroe.

The nominees for the night’s biggest award — entertainer of the year — include Garth brooks, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and last year’s winner, Luke Bryan.

The CMAs will be broadcast Wednesday, Nov. 4, on ABC with Carrie and Brad Paisley once again serving as hosts.

Steven Tyler and Kelsea Ballerini helped announce the nominees.

And, in as awkward a transition as you’ll find, here’s a reminder that Kelsea will be performing Friday night at The York Fair on the WGTY Great Country Radio Music Stage. Her show starts at 6:30 p.m. and is free with admission to the fair.
