Don’t be misled by the headline.

By take on, I mean Chris Daughtry has posted a YouTube video of himself doing an acoustic version of Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face.”

Certainly well done, though it can’t compare to the Gaga album version, of course.

Meanwhile, we’re less than two weeks from the release of the new Daughtry album, “Leave This Town.” Here’s an early review of the album, courtesy of a fellow Idol blogger, Angela Henderson of the Herald-Dispatch in Huntington, W.Va. Bottom line: She loves the album.

And fans of VH1 apparently love the video to Daughtry’s new single, “No Surprise.” The video hit number one on VH1 Top 20 Countdown Saturday morning. The results are based on fan voting.

This week’s top 20 features three Idols in the top five. Kelly Clarkson is number four with the humorous video to “I Do Not Hook Up;” David Cook is number five with “Come Back To Me.”

And checking in at number 11 is Jordin Sparks with “Battlefield.” Jordin’s second album hits stores July 19.
