Being eliminated from the American Idol semifinals without ever getting a chance to sing had to be a bitter disappointment.
But give Austin Wolfe, Brandy Neelly, Jillian Jensen and Kenzie Hall credit for this.
They’re handling the situation with a ton of class.
All four took to Twitter last night and this morning to address their fans.
Jillian is moving forward with plans to make an album. Austin is promising to record as soon as possible.
Kenzie is promising us a full version of “Can’t Hold Us,” after that brilliant performance in Hollywood Week.
Best of luck, ladies. If you haven’t checked their Twitter feeds, here’s what they’re saying.
Kenzie Hall
“@JLo @HarryConnickJR @KeithUrban thanks for the amazing opportunity. ”
“for everyone asking-I am NOT eligible for the wild card picks. Sorry!”
“definitely NOT the last you’ve seen of me :)”
“When I get a chance-I will record the WHOLE version of CANT HOLD US.”
Don’t forget, Kenzie released an EP called “Hands On” in June that included four original songs and a cover of “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” She has six covers posted on her YouTube channel.
Austin Wolfe
“This has been THE most amazing experience that I will take with me for the rest of my life. CONGRATS to my top ten ladies I love you all! ”
“And to the person who yelled “I love you Austin” when I walked off stage, you made my whole day worth while.”
“Hang tight guys this isn’t the last you’ll hear from me. I’ll start putting stuff out as soon as I can.”
You can head to Austin’s YouTube channel to listen to pre-Idol performances, including originals like “Broken” and “Worthless Memories.”
Jillian Jensen
“Listen. There’s gonna be something that happens in life that will make every bump in the road worth it.I’m ready for it.Congrats to my girlys.”
“Here’s what I WAS going to sing tonight 🙂 I love y’all #Unconditionally thanks for always standing by me!”
“Being an idol doesn’t necessarily mean u need a title. I’m happy just being Jillian Jensen the girl trying to make a difference w/her music.”
“Can’t wait to just get in the studio and record my album FINALLY and just show everyone what I have to offer.”
“Going to sleep but starting soon I’m gonna do weekly covers and weekly vlogs so you get to know the real me as I record my album 🙂 ”
Jillian already has singles on iTunes, including “Boys Suck” and “I am Whole” from last year. You can hear lots of Jillian on her YouTube channel.
Brandy Neelly
“We can’t all be winners but I’m gonna keep fighting to be one! 🙂 ”
What did she plan to sing? — “anyway by Martina McBride!”
And then today: “It’s a new day! 🙂 good morning twitter followers! 🙂 ”
Brandy hasn’t released any music yet, but has posted a bunch of covers on her YouTube channel.
Oh, and I would have included Andrina Brogden, too, except she apparently hadn’t reached out on Twitter as of 4 p.m. EST Wednesday.
