The Season 2 contestant from The Voice is still soaring from her success on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.”

Erin came in fifth on the show’s 17th season, which ended in Feburary.

During her time on the show, she dropped from 238 pounds to 179. And by the time the live finale was filmed, she was all the way down to 151 pounds.

Erin, from Gaithersburg, Md., finished in the Top 8 on The Voice back in 2012, but says that’s also when her weight problem got worse.

Those who watched will recall that Erin’s father died of pancreatic cancer during her time on the show. To cope with his loss and the stress of being in the public eye for the first time, Erin says she turned to food and wound up gaining about 40 pounds.

After the show, she moved to L.A., where she told Billboard, she “felt lost.”

No longer. She got to perform “Out of the Darkness” on “The Biggest Loser,” released the single in late January and the video a couple of weeks ago.

“I have gone through a lot of my life thinking someone was going to give me the key to happiness, until I realized that someone was me,” she wrote on Facebook.

“It’s not easy. Some days I don’t want to do it, but if I don’t make that choice to get up and keep moving forward … no one will. Please share (the video) with loved ones and let them know we are all in this together and we can make it Out of the Darkness.”

She also returned home recently to appear on NBC’s Washington affiliate and participate in a meet and greet in Gaithersburg.

During an interview you can watch here, Erin says she feels “beyond proud of myself and so excited for the journey ahead.”

She says her new single was actually written a couple of years ago when she realized “I was in my own way.”
