Why Don’t We released its debut album, “8 Letters,” Friday, to rave reviews from fans and an impressive showing on iTunes.

That group includes former American Idol contestant Daniel Seavey and had previously released five EPs and scored a Top 30 pop hit with “Trust Fund Baby.”

The three singles released since then — “Hooked,” “Talk” and “8 Letters,” all from the album “8 Letters” — have failed to match that chart performance.

But the band is popular enough that they were playing Australia on release day and will be making more than a dozen stops in Europe through the end of October.

Jack Avery, Corbyn Besson, Zach Herron and Jonah Marais round out the quintet.

“We hope this album makes you feel,” Why Don’t We writes on its Facebook page. “Whether it be happiness, sadness, or excitement, we hope you all enjoy every second of it. Our lives and our careers so far have led up to this moment.”

Apparently, they accomplished their goal.

“I’m crying whilst I’m listening to it,” writes Ebony Gallacher on Facebook.

Some other fan feedback:

Nikki Quick: “So proud of you guys the album is amazing the songs are amazing šŸ–¤šŸ–¤ you guys are truly amazing you guys seriously mean the world to me this is the start of a new beginning hereā€™s to the future.”

Eleriin Vaher: “We are so proudā¤ļø — the album is super amazing, I love it! Keep up the great work! Thank you for the amazing work and of course, thank you for everything great you’ve done! To the future and to Why Don’t We!”

Kristina Bouteiller: “So Proud of you boys — another amazing collection of songs. Proud to be a limelight momma. My daughters blast You everywhere.”

As for the charts, 24 hours after its release “8 Letters” was number two on iTunes albums chart, following only Eminem’s “Kimakaze.” “8 Letters” was number one among pop albums.

Physical copies of the album are available through the Why Don’t We website.
