Former American Idol contestants were shut out at the Grammys Sunday night for just the third time since 2006.

Kelly Clarkson and Danny Gokey were nominated for awards, but neither took home the Grammy.

Kelly was nominated for best solo pop vocal performance for “Love So Soft,” the lead single from her new album.

The Grammy instead went to Ed Sheeran for “Shape of You.”

Danny received his first-ever Grammy nomination for his album “Rise” in the best contemporary Christian album category.

The Grammy went to Zach Williams for “Chain Breaker.”

Kelly, Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus were all presenting at Sunday’s ceremony.
