Gianna Salvato is back and better than ever as Gigi Rich

Gigi Rich appeared on The Voice as Gianna Salvato and just released her debut EP.

On Season 7 of The Voice, she was Gianna Salvato, an 18-year-old from New Jersey who landed a spot on Team Gwen Stefani, but was eliminated in the battle round.

Today, she’s Gigi Rich. And, judging from her new music, the change in stage names is working just fine for the 20-year-old who calls New York home.

Gigi recently released her first major project, a five-track EP called “All in My Head.”

It features a catchy lead single called “Same Kind of Crazy,” the soulful and sassy “Stupid” and a ballad called “Still Want You” that is rapidly becoming one of my favorite post-Voice songs of 2017.

As Gianna Salvato, Gigi had released a single called “Baby, It’s You” back in 2015. A fine debut single, but the new music comes off as much more mature.

That’s one of the reasons for the change in names, Gigi told AllAccess.com.

“I just grew up and evolved so much from when I started so many years ago,” she told the site. “The music released under Gianna Salvato is not at all who I am as an artist right now. I had a completely different look and vibe. As I get older and more comfortable with myself, I just felt like I needed the change.”

Gigi goes without explains. Rich is the first four letters of her middle name.

As for the name of the EP?

“I had a lot of inspiration for these songs. It’s very personal and reflects different moments in my life that affected me in some significant way. So, I thought calling it All In My Head would be perfect,” she told All Access.

“Now that I think about it, each song is about a different person that entered my life and impacted me. They helped make me who I am today.”

You can follow Gigi via Twitter and her Facebook page.

Here’s the music video for “Same Kind of Crazy.” And please check out this video. It opens with a snippet of “Still Want You.” Wow, what a great song and vocal.
