Glowing reviews for Casey Abrams’ new album

2

Casey Abrams just released a debut album that goes down as easy as a sunny, 85-degree summer day.

It’s absent the flamboyance of Adam Lambert’s “Trespassing.”

It’s absent  the darker topics Carrie Underwood decided to tackle early on in her “Blown Away” album.

But that doesn’t mean it isn’t engaging.

Give it a few listens, and I’d be willing to bet you’ll find yourself tapping your toes to songs like “Blame It On Me,” “Stuck in London” (the mango song), “Great Bright Morning” and the catchy first single, “Get Out.”

Oh, and there’s another great duet with Haley Reinhart, a cover of “Hit the Road Jack.”

Critics are enjoying the album too. At least for the most part. Here are some early reviews of the album.

All-Music.com: Gives Casey 3 stars out of 5, saying “Abrams sings with a smile, never letting a grey cloud darken his blue sky –an attitude that’s easier to adopt if you avoid sad songs, which he does throughout this sunny, mellow affair.”

New York Daily News: Gives the album a positive review, saying “on his self-titled debut, Abrams takes advantage of the most winning qualities he displayed on the show. His vocals sound less fettered and more fluid than ever — enough to make even his busiest scats seem not skittish but pretty.”

Seattle Post Intelligencer: Gives the album a positive review, saying
“Casey Abrams is a jazz and R&B infused pop album clearly aimed at the youth market. There’s not a lot of soul searching on this album, but its organic instrumentation and catchy hooks make it a fun listen.”

If you haven’t got your copy yet, Casey is still offering special deals including autographed CDs on his website.

Now, here’s an acoustic version of “Great Bright Morning.”
