Grammy nominations and a concert, too

Will Idol have a chance to extend the streak to six years?

We’ll find out Wednesday night, when CBS hosts a special live Grammy nominations concert.

Performers for the show will include country star Miranda Lambert, pop princess Katy Perry, pop idol Justin Bieber (again?), rapper B.o.B. and others.

LL Cool J will be the host for the evening’s events.

Now, back to the Idol streak.

Carrie Underwood is largely responsible for it, winning the Grammy for Best Female Vocal Performance three years in a row before losing that honor to Taylor Swift back in January.

Oh, well, Carrie still won the Grammy for Best Country Collaboration, for her “I Told You So” duet with Randy Travis.

And, if the Idol streak is to continue, the show’s best bet is probably Carrie, who’s coming off a hit album that produced three number one singles in the past year.

The 53rd annual Grammy Awards will be televised at 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, on CBS.
