Gwen Stefani picks a familiar face as her Voice co-mentor

Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani are interviewed about their co-mentoring relationship on The Voice. We now have the identity of a second mentor for Season 7 of The Voice.

And while Gwen Stefani might have to spend some time getting familiar with the show’s set in her first outing as a coach, she’s already quite familiar with the guy who will be helping mentor her contestants.

That’s because he’s her husband, Gavin Rossdale, lead singer and guitarist for the rock band Bush.

The two have been married since 2002 and have three sons, including Apollo, born in February.

Filming for Season 7 has already started and Gwen called their co-coaching “really interesting since we’ve never really collaborated on too much besides children” in an interview with Access Hollywood.

“We’ve never been in this sort of situation before, so it’s weird,” she added.

It won’t be the first time for a husband-wife coaching team on The Voice, of course. Miranda Lambert helped Blake Shelton coach his team back in Season 2.

The Voice had already announced that Stevie Nicks would help mentor Adam Levine’s contestants this fall.

No word yet on the Season 7 mentors for Blake or Pharrell. Season 7 kicks off Sept. 22 on NBC.
