At long last, folks, we have a release date for Haley Reinhart’s album.
The CD will be called “Listen Up” and will be out May 22; pre-orders are being taken at Haley’s website, and special fan packages are available.
The first 500 fans to order the album will receive CDs signed by Haley.
Her first single from the album, “Free,” will come out Tuesday, two days before she performs the song on an American Idol results show.
The press release announcing the album says it turned out to be “a retro-flavored, yet thoroughly contemporary-sounding collection of songs that Haley co-wrote with her collaborators, who include Mike Elizondo, busbee, Rob Kleiner, Rune Westberg, and Chris Seefried.”
Says Haley in the release: “Along with the album’s pop undertones, it definitely has key elements of soul, rock, R&B, and even some jazz,” Haley says. “I’m hugely influenced by the music I grew up with and you can hear that on the album.”
And, if you haven’t heard the single, here it is.

GO HALEY!! BEST SINGER OUT THERE!!
I so love her voice, why didn’t she won AI??
So excited for her debut album! May 22nd can’t come sooner.
Love the fact that “Listen Up!” isn’t named after one of the songs or a song lyric. That combined with the album photo shoot, and the overall feel of the songs is a very refreshing change of pace. Especially in Idol land. 🙂
