Blake is a 16-year-old student from Middlesboro, Ky., and we only saw a few seconds of his audition in Idol’s Salt Lake City episode.

But the camera caught him winking at Jennifer Lopez.

“I have that country swagger that most (contestants) don’t have here,” Blake says in his Road to Hollywood video.

“I feel like I can bring country music back, and America’s gonna love it.”

For his audition, Blake sang Waylon Jennings’ “I’ve Always Been Crazy.”

And while most singers are eager to escape the Idol audition room, golden ticket in hand, Blake says he wishes his audition would have lasted longer.

Of course, he smiles and says Jennifer told him he was cute.

He doesn’t say whether that happened before of after the wink. But J-Lo’s comment was memorable enough that he couldn’t remember what Keith Urban said about his singing.

Blake says he has a number of inspirations in country music, a prime one being George Strait, whom he admires for his professionalism.
