Hear more from American Idol’s Jordan Brisbane

Jordan Brisbane is a 15-year-old with enough bravado to proclaim that he’s going to “shut American Idol down” when he stepped on the audition stage.

He likely said it partly in jest, because he has quite a sense of humor.

But the teen from Savannah, Ga., certainly impressed the Idol judges.

So much so that all three voted to give him a golden ticket to Hollywood after he performed Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man.”

Keith Urban complimented him on his raw talent. Harry Connick Jr. suggested Jordan cut back on the vocal runs, but also said he comes across as so sweet that people will start clapping the minute he steps on stage.

“I think I aced it,” Jordan says of his audition in his Road to Hollywood video. “I just have a little trimming to do.”

On Facebook, Jordan describes himself as an “unsigned recording artist working to be the best that I can be.”

He lists gospel, neo-soul and R&B as his preferred genres.

And he says his musical influences include Season 2 Idol winner Ruben Studdard, Justin Beiber and Fred Hammon.

Plus, he adds in his Road to Hollywood video, Fantasia and his “wife Beyonce.” That’s what I meant about the sense of humor.

“What makes me unique is the fact that I’m able to sing a song and you’re able to feel the feeling put forth through the song from me,” Jordan says.

He also promises to be a real soul singer in an industry where such artists are lacking.

Below are the two videos you’ll find of him performing on his YouTube channel.

The second song is a Christian single he released to iTunes in January 2012.

“Halo” (Beyonce cover)

“Get Up!” (original single)
