Tyler Marshall is one of the Season 13 contestants who is a longtime fan of American Idol.

“I’ve been watching this show for years,” says the 25-year-old from Omaha. “I’ve always sat in front of TV and said, ‘If I was in front of the judges, I’d sing this. Or I’d do this.'”

In Season 13, it appears Tyler might have his chance. Or a second chance.

After all, he already performed in front of them once. And got rave reviews plus a unanimous pass to Hollywood.

Tyler treated us to a version of “Proud Mary” in the Omaha audition that was probably the male vocal highlight of the night.

In addition to the praise for his singing — Keith called his voice “killer” — the judges liked his positive attitude.

In Omaha, Tyler is owner and stylist at Tylo Confashions and VIP promoter and host at the Halo Ultra Lounge.

On his YouTube channel, he refers to himself as a “singer, actor, dancing, stylist praying one day to make it big on TV, Broadway and the music world.”

Oh, and he doesn’t mind doing backing vocals.

As musical inspirations, Tyler points to Beyonce, Jason Derulo and Israel Houghton.

On Idol, Tyler is hoping versatility works to his advantage.

“I know all and have sung different kinds of genres of music,” he says in his Road to Hollywood video. “I mean from Broadway to jazz to R&B to gospel to rock. Everything but hard metal. There’s nothing I couldn’t sing, and I love singing all genres of music.”
