Idol has introduced viewers to lots of very young contestants so far in Season 15.

Heck, 15 seems to be this season’s perfect age if you wanted to audition for the show.

One of the most talented youngsters we’ve met so far is Gianna Isabella, who kicked off Wednesday’s Philadelphia audition episode.

Of course, the talent isn’t so surprising since Gianna grew up in a musical family. Her mother, Brenda K. Starr, scored a pop hit with “I Still Believe” back in 1988 and has released a number of albums, both in English and Spanish.

In her pre-audition interview clip, Gianna said she’s “very inspired by my mom. I would have to say she’s my idol … She’s taught me everything I know.”

Gianna learned well, based on the powerful and soulful vocals she displayed while singing “House of the Rising Sun” for the judges.

She received “yes” votes to advance to Hollywood from all three judges.

And in a touching moment, Idol allowed mom — who attended the same dance school as Jennifer Lopez — to enter the audition room and present her daughter with the golden ticket to Hollywood.

In a Talent Watch interview you can read here, Gianna says she got interested in a career in music just by seeing how much fun her mom had performing. Oh, and mom would occasionally pull her up on stage to perform as well.

This isn’t Gianna’s first attempt at a singing show. She tried out for the third and final season of The X Factor and advanced to the Top 40 girls before being eliminated.

And while Gianna doesn’t appear to have released any original music yet, she has a YouTube page filled with covers.

Her mom credits her daughter’s success to hard work.

“Her friends to out and party and she stays home and writes and sings all day long,” Brenda said. “She works really hard.”

You can follow Gianna on Facebook. On Twitter, she is @gianisabell.

Now, here are a couple of those covers.
