Here comes a holiday weekend.
And here come those top 10 Idols from season eight.
The American Idol summer tour kicks off Sunday in Portland, Ore. But before you know it, the Idols will be singing and dancing much closer by.
The tour includes a Tuesday, Aug. 4, show in Washington; a Wednesday, Aug. 5, show in Baltimore; a Thursday, Aug. 20, show in Philly; and a Tuesday, Sept. 8, show at the Sovereign Center in Reading.
Tickets went on sale May 9, so the best seats are likely already gone.
See the “Idols in the Area” section on the right of this page for ticket price information and links to the sites were you can buy those tickets.
So, what can you expect if you go see one of the concerts?
E! Online has printed the most complete rundown of what the top 10 will be singing that I could find. Here’s a link.
Idol champ Kris Allen performs last, as you would expect, and will sing five songs, including the Beatles’ “Hey Jude.” Allison Iraheta’s three songs will include “Cry Baby,” the Janis Joplin song she performed during this year’s show. Danny Gokey’s numbers will include Michael Jackson’s “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing).”
As for Adam Lambert? What else? A medley of David Bowie tunes.
Here’s another link, to an Associated Press story about the top 10’s preparations for the summer tour.
