Good news for Daughtry and Jordin Sparks. Their latest singles made big jumps on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week, which can only translate into more good news in album sales.

I’ll be surprised if Daughtry’s just-released “Leave This Town” isn’t among the top five on the Billboard 200 next week. Jordin releases her second album, “Battlefield,” on Tuesday.

You’ll find six Idol albums among the top 100 of the Billboard 200 this week. Leading the way: The American Idol Season Eight album, though it drops two spots after debuting at number 34 last week.

Here’s how the other Idols fared.

Kelly Clarkson: The singles “I Do Not Hook Up” and “My Life Would Suck Without You” are still among the top 20 on the Pop 100 chart, checking in at 13 and 20, respectively. “I Do Not Hook Up” drops another seven spots to 39 on the Hot 100 singles chart. Among the Hot 200 albums, Kelly’s “All I Ever Wanted” rebounds a bit, jumping from 65 to 54, its highest chart position since June 11.

David Cook: “Come Back to Me” holds steady at number seven on the Adult Top 40 chart. David’s debut album checks in at 98 on the Hot 200, down from 87.

Daughtry: “No Surprise” continues to gain ground. It jumps 10 spots on the Hot 100 chart, from 47 to 37, and moves up to number five on the Adult Top 40 chart. All the publicity surrounding the album release can only help those rankings next week. Meanwhile, Daughtry’s debut album is still number 100 on the Hot 200, up five spots from last week.

Jennifer Hudson: “If This Isn’t Love” holds steady at number 29 on the R&B singles chart. Meanwhile, Jennifer’s Grammy-winning debut album jumps 10 spots, from 47 to 37 on the R&B/Hip-Hop album chart.

Mandisa: “My Deliverer” is still hanging onto a top 20 position on the Hot Christian Adult Contemporary chart, checking in at number 15. It has dropped out of the top 20 on the Hot Christian Songs chart.

Jordin Sparks' second album comes out Tuesday.Kellie Pickler: The single, “Best Days of Your Life,” hit a new peak at number 12 on the country singles chart while Kellie’s second album hangs onto the number 17 spot on the country album chart for the third straight week. It’s also hanging in on the Hot 200 at number 80, down two spots from a week ago.

Jordin Sparks: “Battlefield,” the title tune of Jordin’s upcoming album, held steady at number 28 on the Pop 100 for the third straight week. It did better on the Hot 100 singles chart, jumping five spots from 30 to 25.

Carrie Underwood: With a new album on the way in November, Carrie’s second continues to do well on the charts. “Carnival Ride” is number 16 on the country chart for the second straight week and actually moves up five spots, from 74 to 69, on the Hot 200.
