Kellie Pickler, New Idol Music

Kellie Pickler talks about bugs and frogs with Ellen

0

When I listened to Kellie Pickler’s new album, I got a little worried.

I mean, no songs about calamarie or shoe shopping.  A more serious, grownup Kellie.

Would she show up on Ellen Friday afternoon and have a serious chat about the direction of her new music?

About why she shied away from county-pop for a more traditional sound?

Have no fear, Kellie fans.

The zany Kellie Pickler we all know and love is alive and well — ready to sip moonshine, talk about chasing bugs out of hotel rooms with squirt guns and immitate tiny frogs.

I could try to describe her chat with Ellen this afternoon, but it’s much more fun to watch Kellie in action.

The interview segment is followed by her performances of “Where’s Tammy Wynette,” the lead track off Kellie’s third album “100 Proof,” which hit stores Tuesday.
