Laci Kaye Booth, Top 5 on Season 17 of American Idol, dropped an impressive, self-titled post-show album Friday.

And she announced that the ridiculously catchy “Treasure,” showcasing her smoky vocals, will be the first single from the eight-song collection

She co-wrote the song with Jessie Jo Dillon, Jimmy Robbins and Laura Veltz, and it finds her reminding an ex that “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure / just like that I went and found somebody better.”

Two years have passed since Laci’s reworking of hits like “Stars” and “I Want You to Want Me” made her a front-runner on Idol.

She’s since moved to Texas and said the time spent working on original music in the interim “made me a better writer, artist and human.”

As for the new album …

“My whole life, I prayed, and I wished for this to happen. I prayed for it every night, and every time I’d blow out my candles on my birthday cake, I’d wish for it,” Laci said in a statement.

“In my heart of hearts, this is exactly what I always wanted.”

Other standout tracks in the collection include “Texas,” in which she writes about her home state as a lover she’s left behind and the tender ballad “If He Would Have Stayed,” in which she sings about growing up without her real dad.

Laci wrote the former with Nathan Chapman and, Emily Fox Landis; the latter with Carlo Colasacco and James Slater. In fact, she has a writing credit on all eight tracks.

Here’s the lyric video for “Treasure.”
