Lauren Alaina, runner-up on American Idol Season 10, has a new EP out.

Lauren Alaina released her second EP of 2020 on Friday.

And you might say it’s being well-received.

Thursday, nearly a week after its release, the six-song “Getting Over Him” was still number two on the Apple Music country albums chart. And in the Top 10 on the Apple Music overall albums chart.

As the title would imply, the six-song collection is filled with breakup songs.

And it’s a very personal collection of songs, Lauren has said in interviews.

Last year marked the end of a long-term relationship with a boyfriend to whom she was engaged as well as the end of a shorter relationship with Christian comedian John Crist.

“I’ve been through enough breakups in the last couple of years that I’ve had some serious inspiration,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

And she told Taste of Country: ““This collection of songs is me remembering to love myself when someone else doesn’t.

“I’d rather be alone and have this music, than be in a bad relationship and not have It, so I’ll take it.”

Particularly autobiographical are “Bar Back” and “What Do You Think Of?” she told the site.

The latter is a duet with Lukas Graham. The EP features two of those, the other being a collaboration with Jon Pardi on the title track.

Lauren is celebrating the release with her first live stream concert ever on Saturday.
