Loren Allred has cracked the Billboard charts with “Never Enough” from “The Greatest Showman.”

Quick quiz: Which former Voice contestant has cracked the Billboard Hot 100?

The answer: Loren Allred.

And if your followup question is Loren who, you’ll be forgiven.

Loren, then 22, actually did very well on The Voice, advancing all the way to the live playoffs as a member of Team Adam Levine back on Season 3.

But she’s been keeping a pretty low profile since then. Oh, she’s appeared as a vocalist on albums released by others.

But in the five-plus years since her run on The Voice ended, she hasn’t released music under her own name.

That’s changed thanks to the box office hit “The Greatest Showman.”

In the film, Rebecca Ferguson plays Jenny Lind, the Swedish Nightingale, a renown singer who falls for P.T. Barnum.

But the real nightingale on the movie’s soundtrack is Loren, who sings the film’s torch song, “Never Enough.”

Praise has been rolling in since. The song debuted on the Hot 100 at number 88 three weeks ago. This week its number 97. “The Greatest Showman” is number one on the Billboard soundtrack chart.

“The big dramatic ballad isn’t as stylish in the pop world right now,” Loren says in a recent interview with The Deseret News. “But people were coming out of the woodwork from everywhere — Canada, Korea, China — saying ‘we love it, we miss those big ballads.’”

Loren, who’s done mostly studio work since her time on The Voice, told the newspaper she was invited to record demos for “The Greatest Showman” back in 2014.

She’d heard rumors she might become the voice of Jenny Lind on the soundtrack, but didn’t believe it until producers arranged a meeting for her with Ferguson.

And “Never Enough” isn’t just doing well on the Billboard charts. The song has been streamed more than 25 million times on Spotify. The reprise version from the soundtrack — more than 12 million.

Here’s the video version, which has been viewed more than 8 million views.
