Just a week after its release, Mandisa’s new album has accomplished something her previous two didn’t.

“Overcomer” landed at number one on this week’s Billboard’s Christian albums chart.

The cover for Mandisa's new single, "Overcomer." The album by the same name comes out Tuesday.

The cover for Mandisa’s new single, “Overcomer.” The album by the same name comes out Tuesday.

It marks the second number one album for the 36-year-old who made the finals on Season 5 of American Idol and finished ninth.

Her post-Idol debut album, “True Beauty,” accomplished the feat in 2007.

But her followup albums, “Freedom” from 2009 and “What If We Were Real” from 2011, peaked at number four and number two on the Christian charts repectively.

“Overcomer” features the single by the same name, and it’s enjoying considerable chart success as well. This week, it moves up from five to four on the Christian singles chart.

And the video for the uplifting hit premiered this morning on “Good Morning America,” leaving Mandisa with lots to celebrate today.

Of course, the GMA cast has a special connection to the video.

One of the individuals shown overcoming in “Overcomer” is GMA anchor Robin Roberts, who recently returned to the show after about a year off to receive a bone marrow transplant to combat a rare blood disorder.

I’ve embedded the video below.

As for “Overcomer” the album — it also landed at 29 on the Billboard 200, which features albums of all genres.

That’s Mandisa’s best showing ever on that chart.
