Alex Miller from American Idol Season 19

Here’s more about Alex.

* He’s a 17-year-old from Lancaster, Kentucky, who specializes in country music.

* Miller told WTVQ that he started singing at age 3, picked up the guitar at age 7 and started writing songs shortly afterward.

* Alex told the Garrard Central Record that his first public performance was at age 4 at the Gerrard County Fair, singing “Me and God” by Josh Turner.

* Because of his small stature and knack for covering songs by the country legend, Alex was known as “Little Hank Williams” early in his career, according to that newspaper article.

* Now he stands 6-foot-5 and goes by Alex “Kentucky Kowboy” Miller on his Instagram page.

* In 2019, he was just 15 when he earned a spot in the Pigeon Forge Path to Fame talent competition by singing an original, “I’m Over You, So Get Over Me.”

* At the time, he told his local newspaper, The Advocate-Messenger, that his musical idols included classic country artists like Hank Williams Sr., Merle Haggard and Buck Owens.

* In a summer of 2020 interview with the Central Record, he told that site that he’d describe his current sound as “bluegrass outlaw with a spiritual influence.”

* He’s also involved with the Future Farmers of America at Garrard County High School and placed in the Top 15 at the national FFA talent competition in 2019.

* He doesn’t appear to have released music yet, but the last two posts to Alex’s YouTube channel are originals he wrote — “She Said We’re Through” and “There’s Always More Fish Out in the Sea.” You can check out the former below. He also performed an original for his initial audition with Idol.
