Season 11, Stephanie Renae

Meet American Idol contestant Stephanie Renae

0

American Idol featured several of its youngest contestants during the Savannah audition episode, including a personable 15-year-old from Middleburg, Fla., named Stephanie Renae.

Stephanie’s a Carrie Underwood fan through and through.

She stressed that during the segment we saw on Idol.  She stressed that again in her golden ticket interview.

And if there was ever any doubt, just check out her non-Idol performances on YouTube.

Most of them feature her singing a Carrie Underwood tune, quite well, I must add.  Oh, there’s one of Stephanie singing “Alone” by Heart.

Of course, that was one of Carrie’s signature Idol performances.

But back to Stephanie.  She’s  a student at Paxon High School, describes herself as a mix of a girly-girl and tomboy on Facebook, says she loves playing tackle football and writes music every day.

In her Idol video, Stephanie tells us her first performance for an audience was at age 3 in church.

“I sang ‘My Favorite Things’ and I actually wore the white dress with the blue satin sash, and I did all the motions, especially turning away from the microphone and showing my bow. Yeh, it was pretty cool.”

Clearly, a born performer, even if Randy voted against sending her to Hollywood, despite high praise from Jennifer and Steven.

Just check out these non-Idol performances.
