Beya of The Voice Season 26

Beya of The Voice Season 26

Her audition: Beya, 24, Hawaii, “Our Day Will Come” by Ruby and the Romantics: Beya displayed a really nice voice and got an early chair turn from Gwen Stefani. The song’s tempo picked up and Beya continued to show nice stage presence. But none of the other coaches turned, meaning Beya automatically became Team Gwen. Gwen said she liked the smoothness and effortlessness in her performance.

Here’s more about Beya:

* She’s a 25-year-old bilingual singer, a native of Hawaii, raised between there and the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California.

* Beya released her first single, the excellent “Brighter Than the Sun” in May. It’s a song about the influence of family on her and her music.

* The song has racked up 32,000 streams on Spotify so far. Beya also released an accompanying music video, which you can check out below.

* In her Spotify bio, Beya says she discovered her love for music at a young age, inspired by watching her mother and 92-year-old grandmother sing and play the ukelele.

* Beya says she began playing piano at age 10, began performing in public two years later and picked up the guitar when she was 16.

* She describes her music as “a mix of Kauai vibes, Salvadorian roots, and diverse rhythms” influenced by the places she’s visited.

* And a glance at her Instagram shows Beya has traveled a good deal. One 2022 post includes video from her stay with the Kichwa tribe in the Sacha Wasi community of Ecuador.

* Wrote Beya: “I’ve been sharing the wonders of music through singing and guitar with the families of the community. This place has brought me so much more than just musical inspiration.”

* Speaking of which, Beya says her musical inspirations include the lyrics of Jack Johnson and the voices of Amy Winehouse and Etta James.

* Beya turned 25 in August, writing: “I don’t know exactly where I’m going, but it’s full of flowers and beautiful opportunities.”
