Britney Holmes got a second chance at Season 16 of American Idol and made the most of it.

Britney Holmes will be one of the contestants featured in Monday night’s audition episode of American Idol.

We already met Britney briefly. She was one of three artists given a second shot at getting a golden ticket via auditions aired during the 2018 American Music Awards.

Britney, 28, of Frisco, Texas, made the most of her opportunity. She turned in a brilliant rendition of James Bay’s “Let It Go.”

The next night, on Dancing With the Stars, she learned that American had voted for her to advance to Hollywood.

Here’s more about Britney:

* According to her website, Britney appeared in the PBS children’s show “Wishbone” as a child, playing the role of Emily Barnes.

* On Facebook, she says she began her singing career at age 11 and became known as the “National Anthem Girl,” performing the song at sports events, including Big 12 championship, Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks games.

* According to an interview with her hometown ABC affiliate, Britney had a recording contract at age 13 and was a Radio Disney star, but found such opportunities drying up as she got older.

* Say Britney in that interview: “I think something shifts from being this little kid who has this big voice to being a teenager with a big voice to now being an adult, and it’s not as cool or interesting versus when I was a little kid who belts out the national anthem. So, I’ve had to find my way as an artist and singer and figure out who I am and how I was going to get from point A to Z.”

* Britney classifies herself as a pop/R&B artist and has released several songs to iTunes as an independent artists, beginning in 2013.

* In the past year, that includes covers of two Bruno Mars songs (“Versace on the Floor” and “Chunky”) and her own original, “Loving You Tonight,” which came out in November. You can check out the music video below.

* Of “Loving You Tonight,” Britney wrote: “I’m really proud of this record. It’s a record that I can say is ME! It’s very reminiscent of a time when music just felt good – like “clean your house dancing around in your PJs” good or “driving around with the windows down” good lol.”

* Britney also teaches music, providing vocal lessons and mentoring through what she calls The B. Holmes Project.”

* Katy Perry was the judge who rescued Britney via the second-chance audition. Wrote Britney on Facebook: “I am beyond grateful and excited for this opportunity!”
