His audition: Cole Vosbury, 22, of Shreveport, La., took a risk during his audition, singing “Movin’ On Up,” the theme song from “The Jeffersons” TV show from the 1970s and 1980s. It prompted Cee Lo Green to turn his chair, explaining he “had to turn around” since anyone who would do something that bold had to be “a bad-ass.” He also complimented Cole on being a “great balance of country and soul.”
His background: Cole comes from a musical family. His grandmother was country singer Nita Lynn, who toured with Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis. His father, Robin Vosbury, was a longtime guitarist for country singer Claude King. “My dad tried to keep me out of music,” Cole told The Voice. “He didn’t want me going through all the stuff he went through. But I guess he saw there was no way to keep me out of it.”
On picking Cee Lo: Cole told KTAL Channel 6 in Shreveport that he wasn’t too disappointed that only Cee Lo spun his chair. “If anyone else turned around besides Cee Lo, I would’ve picked him anyways,” he said.
What the show didn’t show: Cole performs with the Cole Vosbury Trio around the Shrevesport area; his dad is also part of that trio. He wrote a song called “Caylee’s Eyes” that was recorded and released by Curtis Braly. The song was inspired by the story of 2-year-old Caylee Anthony, who was found dead in 2011 in Orlando, Fla., leading to the murder trial of her mother, Casey Anthony. Though he’s been performing since he was 5 years old, Cole told KTAL he suffered a serious case of nerves before stepping onto The Voice stage. After all, he might perform regularly, but “I’m not always performing for those four people.”
Quote: “There’s a part of me that wants to do this to get my family’s name out there,” Cole told The Voice. “They’re all very talented musicians, and I want to take that national legacy worldwide.”
On iTunes: Just his performance from The Voice.

Cole, You are an awesome talent and keep up with your dreams. I know your family is proud of you and I am proud to have worked with you in the short time I did while I was in Shreveport. I cant forget those notes you hit that were as high up the scale as Maria Carie . What an amazing talent. Go team Cee LO!
