Conor James of The Voice Season 27

Conor James is among the artists who auditioned for Season 27 of The Voice.

The Voice returns Monday, Feb. 3 with the coaching quarter of Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Buble, John Legend and Adam Levine.

Here’s more about Conor:

* He’s a Los Angeles-based songwriter, producer and singer with lots of already released music.

* His first major release appears to be an 11-song, 2020 album called “Zephyr” that’s still available on Bandcamp.

* On Apple Music and Spotify, you’ll find a 12-song 2022 album called “Caberet” and a number of more recent songs.

* Those include “It Happens All the Time,” a 2023 single that spawned a music video you can check out below.

* At the time the music video was released in August 2023, Conor wrote that it “feels so true to self, so inclusive of all of my identities and nuances, so human … This is also my favorite song I’ve ever released. Took a lot of labor and discomfort to get it there and it was worth it all.”

* More recently, Conor writes on Instagram that he’s joined a cult indie band called PetProphet. They released two singles in 2024 — “1-800” and “Computer Man.”

* In a 2022 interview with Voyage LA, Conor says he “began writing music in the solitude of my bedroom as a queer weirdo kid in small-town Massachusetts.”

* He says he makes “art as a means to understand the ever-uncertain world around me, faltering along the way deliberately (and beautifully, I hope).”

* “My biggest strength is painting a vivid lyrical picture and discussing themes of sexuality and gender that aren’t often touched on by men,” he adds.
